Amy Dunne, the main character is a married writer. Amy is a woman who lies a lot to gain attention. She is also an unreliable storyteller. Amy exhibits actions associated with mental illness. Nick’s spouse Amy disappears in the first scene of the movie. Nick is framed as the suspect. Amy has disappeared, making everyone think that Nick is responsible for her disappearance. She recreates the crime scene in a way that convinces everyone that Amy was kidnapped. She went as far to flip the room over and create a bloody mess, which she cleaned later. She wanted everyone to believe that her husband had murdered her.
Amy is suffering from multi-personality syndrome, also known by the name dissociative personal disorder. This mental illness causes a person to have multiple identities. Multi-personality Disorder is a mental illness in which a person has more than one identity. Each personality has different characteristics. A wife of a Missouri couple goes missing the morning after their fifth wedding anniversary. A week-long investigation was conducted to determine whether Amy’s husband had killed her.
Amy has many symptoms which could indicate a psychological disorder. Amy is confused. I initially thought that Amy had schizophrenia. Amy can sometimes seem like the perfect daughter or wife. In truth, Amy is a narcissist with serious problems who demands attention. The film contains flashbacks that show the relationship between the couple before Amy’s disappearance. The flashbacks played made Amy seem normal and happy. Amy’s faked disappearance, which was meant to appear as a murder, quickly changes. Amy wanted to send her husband off to jail and get rid of him. Throughout the film, she becomes incredibly manipulative. She also plots everything and is very creative.
Nick, Amy’s husband, also has psychological issues. He has an antisocial disorder. Nick is not very familiar with Amy’s life, even though he married her. He doesn’t know what Amy does during the day, or even who her friends are.
