Review Of The Movie Clueless

Clueless was a 1995 movie directed by Amy Heckerling. This classic has been a major inspiration for many teenage movies, including Mean Girls. It’s actually inspired from Jane Austen’s Emma book, which many people don’t know.

Cher’s adventures as a matchmaker are the focus of the movie. Dionne, Cher’s friend, attempts to make Tai’s life better. Things don’t go according to plan when Tai suddenly becomes the center of attention. Cher discovers that you cannot change another person’s standards. Cher Horowitz, a beautiful and wealthy character in the story, is the main character. Cher lives in Beverly Hills and enjoys fashion. Cher definitely wins the title of Queen Bronson High School’s Queen. Cher becomes a matchmaker and manages to negotiate her way up from a C+ grade to an average A-. She is motivated to share her matchmaking talent to help others. Tai Frasier (a new girl) is attracted to Travis, a fellow skater boy. Cher and Dionne decide on a makeover for Tai in an effort to change her life. Cher’s older brother Josh tells her it isn’t wise to try fixing something, especially if it’s someone you don’t know. Tai gains confidence and a sense for style. However, Tai’s “near-death experiences” at the mall make Tai seem cocky. Cher’s life starts to fall apart after a string of bad dates, a decline in her social standing, and she realizes that Josh was right all along. Cher discovers that Tai is now a friend and respectable person and starts dating Travis.

Is the story telling the message that “you cannot force someone to conform to your standards?”? It certainly does. Clueless manages to convey this message flawlessly, even for a movie like it. The movie’s length is a problem because of the unnecessary filer details. I don’t think the teacher’s initial matchmaking is necessary. While it does show us some of Cher’s more “superficial characters”, the story would not be the same without this. Murray and Dionne’s toxic love story is just another plot point. Although it can be funny at times, there are many moments that are just as funny without it. The movie shows the relationship between Murray and Dionne, but it would have been better to show Cher and Josh as they are now dating. It seems a little forced considering Josh is Cher’s step-brother. This is a big point to be over.

Brittany Murphy is one of the greatest actors in this movie. This is because Brittany Murphy and Alicia Silverstone have the most difficult roles, but they do it flawlessly. Alicia must be able to convey Cher’s full personality in her role as Cher. Charm, cleverness and charm were all required to be displayed in a fashionable, well-known fashionista. Alicia Silverstone’s portrayal of the character as too smart or too posh would have damaged the Cher legend that we all love and know today. Brittany Murphy, on the other hand, had to appear at times klutzy and tomboyish, while another time she would be cocky, snarky. Although Murphey is described as a kind and genuine person by the cast, she portrays a convincingly transformed Tai. The Tai’s transformation impressed me greatly when I first saw the movie.
